the Bio...

On the sixteenth of February, nineteen hundred and seventy-two, Planet Earth gave birth to a Justin Waterman.

Raised on an arguabley healthy diet of comic books, above and underground music(s), Justin is eager to share his visions.

Born and breeding in Winnipeg's North End, he has survived in various forms of art. After graduation, Justin became a certified Cel Animator from M.S.I.A. The results of this were 2 experimental shorts "Box"(1992), and "Videopuke"(1993). Through the process of composing audio for video and film, his interest leaned to music throughout the remainder of the 90's (with the exception of his 22-page "Adult Colouring & Activity Book"(1995).

After intensive recording and performing with The Inner Groove, Justin rediscovered his love for visual art.
In 2000 he created "Border X-ings", a political cartoon based on Canada/US relations for NewWinnipeg.com. He then put brush to canvas, and has since never looked back.

Locally, Justin is a regular exhibitor at The Label Gallery. His works are on display at the Osborne Freehouse, G Martini Bar, and Trio restauraunts. His recent foray into set design for the Little Opera Company's 'Trouble in Tahiti' seems to have opened yet another door for Mr. Waterman to enter...
